The acceptance of donations, contributions, gifts, or grants is at the discretion of the 26B Railway Company Ltd., (the company).
Monthly donations can be cancelled at any time.
The company will not accept any of the above listed donations etc, unless they can be used or expended consistently for the purposes of the capital costs involved with the restoration and preservation of the locomotive 45337 detailed within this website.
No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances, the gift would jeopardise the donor’s financial security.
The company will refrain from providing advice about the tax implications or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.
The company will gratefully accept donations of cash, publicly traded securities, or gifts in-kind of services (at the discretion of the company).
Certain gifts, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and other contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised, legal obligations or liabilities that they may pose for the company.
The company will provide grateful acknowledgement to donors for cash and publicly traded securities. No value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by the company.
The company will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restrictive purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, the company will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members who have a need to know basis.
The company will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders’ fees, or by other means, any third party for directing gifts or donations to the company.
In the case of cash lump sum gifts/donations, the company understand that a donor’s circumstances could change, therefore, the company will upon request, provide the donor with a 14-day period from receipt of the said gifts/donations to request a refund. This must be done through the ‘Contact Us’ page on this website. No refunds will be granted once the 14-day period described above has expired.
